I think permament covers on anything are going a bit too far.. like leaving plastic covers on car seats or sofas... it means you don't get to enjoy the thing itself..
But then I HAVE to buy the next new model each time, so I have a nice new clean one a fair percentage of the time... Same with my flat.. why properly clean it, when you can just move to a new one? (Which was what I was doing when I was being sent on lots of assignments with my previous employer)...
