My air conditioning works as well but I actually find the a fan is better, particularly when I'm working out of one room for a long time. Because the temperature is never really perfect. It's just easier and faster to turn the fan off.
That, and my entire family can never decide if they're too hot or too cold and therefore we spend like 20 minutes arguing about the temperature and whether or not we should be putting the air conditioning on.
