I had this shit for weeks. Bottom line is premiere sucks ass. Use iMovie to capture and get into after effects asap.
Back to your q., do you have the latest patch, it can help. Make sure your camera is specified in prefs. There are loads of threads on this at adobe.com too. Good luck
