It's probably not meant to be if bad things like this keep happening. Just wait it out (easier said than done, I know).
These kinds of things happened to all the jobs I wanted before, and then a few months later I got the job I have now, which is the best job I could ask for at this point in my life. Before getting it I thought I would be stuck with nothing and that I had lost my best opportunities.
