get 1080p.. I'm glad I did. You'll be regretting not doing so a few years down the line when HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray catch on and get cheaper. 1080i looks blurry. It's because the signal is interlaced, so you get motion artifacts. I typically prefer 720p to 1080i for this reason, but 1080p owns them both. I can tell the difference pretty easily, but I do have a good source to compare. You can find a good 1080p set at 37-42" for $700-1k. Check out Westinghouse, they make decent sets for cheap. You can usually find deal's at places like costco and sam's club.
