Really sad stories :(
In Edinburgh over the past 3 days there has been 2 suicide attempts from Waverley Bridge
(mad to be so close as usually its maybe about 1 per year - if that!)
on both occasions the police stopped pedestrians and traffic from going over/under the bridge and sent officers/ambulances to try talk the person down. (neither jumped btw).
the crazy thing about it was that everyone was just standing watching as if wanting the person to jump. the public were behind police lines all with their mobile phone cameraspoised and ready to get a pic of the person jumping. sick!
some folk were even shouting "jump!":S
