I was there as well, kinda had to be because I was part of the development of the thing ;)
They didn't want to do a normal overview of their work, but rather give a feel for what their work stands for..I can understand your point of view. Mind you, me and Dan, the other intern at the time had great ideas but time and money caused this outcome ;)
There were some nice features about the table though. The RFiD-recognition of the project boxes wich were placed on it. AFAIK it was the only LCD-touchscreen-table at that time (it had to be fitted with extra fans to cope with the heat of it lying flat). And wich project was opened/viewed on the table would send a one centimeter line to the printer, so the printout became a registry of viewed projects..
