I'm currently in the process of building a client area which currently features an internal messaging system which allows clients and employees to send messages to eachother, or create a discussion which is like a small message board just for that discussion.
we also have a reminder system in which you can send other users reminders like "approvals due", "send image files", "pay invoice"
it also has an online timesheet system where employees can track their hours spent on a project and then we can build pdf invoices based on the entries. And further we can track payable invoices, total income to date, etc.
there is also a comp/approval area where we can display comps and get them approved with comments.
we are also building an upload area where clients can upload files to our computer.
it should be a fairly useful little tool when we are finished with it.
