so, I can't read 300+ posts on this, just reviewing the latest fodder... anyone want to give me the 5 second version?

For my part, I think the logo is successful. I don't like the aesthetic of it, but thats entirely subjective. Sure, 2012 isn't that legible but nor does it have to be. Its memorable and unique – something we need more of in the field of logo/branding marks these days. Some of the video examples out there show good potential in developing the visual system.
