  Jim,
  I would suggest you actually live downtown. This way your lady will go against the traffic grain on her commute to work (from what I've seen, the transit system is madness for those who come into the city), and you guys will actually have lives in the evening.

  Newmarket, Markham, North York or anywhere but downtown Toronto (say, south of Lawrence Ave) will all disappoint you as places to live, I promise!
