... cuz I'm reading a bit of 'business-like' response's about covering half the cost... or ponying up and covering it all...
I say 'BUUUULLLLSHIT!!' to both options - given some of the additional info you've given (ex girlfriend... blah blah blah ... 'friend'... blah blah blah)...
... sounds to me like it's time to end the 'friendship'... sounds like you're 'owned' and quite possibly feel bad for other things... which probably aren't your problem at all...
... that's my 2 cents after reading as much of this as I could...
... just 'drop it'... eliminate the so-called friend. :)
