i had a similar situation. had a small contract with an ex. she kept on saying she would pay but days/weeks/months passed. so i threatened to take legal action but i knew full well that i had no chance since she works for an university. she told me to take it to court.
so i did the next best thing. i called her mom. her mom loved me. and her mom gets on my ex's nerves real easily.
i got paid within a 3 days.
