Anything Damon Albarn releases is worth a listen, all the later Blur albums are timeless.
Same goes for Mike Patton, some are misses and his stuff is not for all, but holy shit can he sing...
If you really are into "different" sounds, not just neew, check out John Zorns label "Tzadik".
Some is odd jazz, some is noise and some is just very original.Ohh.. Steve Reich is also mandatory is every true music fan's collection.
