I finally saw the episode.
I don't think it was as bad as everyone said it was.
SPOILERS
(just for flavor...come on, watch the episode already! hehehe)
I knew this show wouldn't have a large budget (it's TV, not film) and therefore I didn't expect any full-blown fight scenes. So I wasn't terribly hopeful to begin with. However, I kind of agree that it was lame. I was worried that Nathan wouldn't even get to fly a bit. Thankfully he sort of did.
Mohinder's a much better character now. I don't think it's as fair to say he is "tool" (anymore).
I think, at the end of the episode, the families were more surprised by the fact that Nathan, the celebrity, could fly. If he were a normal person, it'd be kind of different. Although flying is one damn cool power. I suspect Peter and Nathan are still around, especially because we never saw their bodies.
Niki/Jessica is still cool in my books. I liked seeing her kick some ass and turning into a better developed character.
Boz, Linderman is probably still alive, but I can understand why people would think he's dead. D.L. practically squished his brain, which would suggest that there would be some damage. But I'm guessing he can regenerate his brain parts too? Weird.
You have a good point about no one noticing Sylar's body though. I mean SERIOUSLY. After all the crazy stuff he can do, why would any hero risk him coming back?
If I ever came across a "hero" that I needed to get rid of, I would definitely squish their brain and then chop their head off. After that I would take their head and bury it far away from the body, so as to eliminate as many possibilities of that person coming back alive. You just never know with these people with super powers.
I think the reason Peter didn't fly is because he didn't have the confidence nor the concentration (at the moment he was starting to glow near the end of the episode) to do it himself. He even noted before that he was scared and needed his brother's help. He needed Nathan's help at the end to get into the sky.
Overall, it was decent. I'm not going to be too hard on season 1. They're usually polished up by the next season, and the next, etc.
