an interesting (but heavy) read.
my girlfriend and i were talking this weekend about how pictures not only give you a glimpse of the past, the world, etc. they also give you something of a glimpse into the mind of the photographer. i guess that relates to what the author says when she calls photographs "a narrowly selective transparency."
i may have to check this out of the library, or at least add it to my book list. thanks bolus.
