  awards are great, its like a carrot for the creative industry to push themselves forward. Also, in our industry its rare to get any significal recognition from non-designers so we have to make it ourself. The army have medals, etc. D&AD are UK based, but international.

  a carrot, just what the so-called creative industry needs! pushing each other forward by making work to win awards over each other, great! i think that us designers a bit like the army too, but instead of fighting for 'freedom' we fight for the poor defenseless corporation! this type of work deserves recognition!
