If you look at Paypal's privacy policy, or at their history of customer relations, you will know why most consumer-conscious people proactively shun Paypal.

If you use your credit card to purchase anything that could ever be considered "questionable" (bibles, porno or the like) you should look into the number of people who have had accounts frozen or their purchase history turned over to corporate interests without so much as a court order.

I would personally rather do business with the Bank of Iraq, they would probably have more respect for me as a customer than PayPal has for their clients.

It is their terrible business practices that have given the public such a horrible taste for PayPal - their criminal behaviour and the countless civil lawsuits against them. It is a added bonus that they go overboard to give out your personal information to any company that asks for it.

Most of the people Paypal have screwed were normal legit paying customers - just check them out before you suggest that your "friends" join - you are doing them a disservice by profiting from getting them to join.

These people are evil. Paypal are not anybody's pal. At least check out the Frequently Asked Questions about Paypal, from a high profile consumer activist website (a site mentioned in Forbes) http://paypalsucks.com/faqs.shtm… . That will give you a idea how crummy these creatins are.
