The DW Site Manager hangs for a significant amount of time before timing out, but if you wait it should recover and notify you of a failure. Double check your host address, directory and password setting under the site definition preferences. Define the path separately from the domain, ie: Host Address = ftp.tycoon.com, Directory=www
