The exact same shit happened to me but with a guitar. A Les Paul worth about 1700 and I sold for 1200 to cover a new one I bought.
It was in excellent condition and this jackass filed a claim after he got it saying it needed neck adjustments and that finish was "tacky".
It almost went ot blows over the internetz, but finally the tool dropped the case.
