When I was considering buying a 30" Cinema Display, I asked Apple Sales what their dead-pixel policy was... The guy just said "If you arent happy with it, return it"... (not sure if thats what they always say, but once he's said that I'd hold them to it).
I got the 30", and it was perfect, but actually a bit TOO BIG. So I told them I'fd like to return it, and they came and picked it up. money back. nice service.
I got a couple of 23"ers instead.
