And to his point of classical guitarists are the most talented... What does he think 90-95% of the top metal guitarists are schooled in. Yup, classical.

(May 11 07, 07:03)yeah..maybe..I tend to find alot of skilled players in jazz though..at least in terms of total musical knowledge. There's a certain techincal mastery for the classical guitar, but the knowledge side of it isn't as vast as a trained jazz player I'd say, basically because the music doesn't call for it.
And as for technique..well, there are techniques for playing a nylon string classical guitar and there's techniques for playing a Les Paul through a Mesa Boogie stack at club/Arena levels...two different, albeit related things...but if you just hand a classical player who has never played a super loud amplified guitar before he's going to sound like shit...
