  I agree with you that irrational beliefs breed irrational acts. Perhaps not all beliefs are irrational, though. I know personally, and have heard many historical accounts of people of faith who are quite lucid, peaceful and genuinely kind. Have a look at the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, John Calvin, St. Francis, William Wilberforce, etc. etc...It's the extremists who depart from faith and head off into their own territory that breed violent patterns. That's a fact.
