Crouwel, I fully believe that we should try to rehab criminals. They should still pay for their crimes.

My great aunt was raped by a man who broke into her home one night. She was 60 years old. Her husband had been dead for some time. She suffered numerous physical and I am sure psychological problems from this event.

The man was caught and eventually convicted. He spent many years in prison. Shortly after he was jailed, my aunt visited him in prison. She told him that she forgave him for what he had done to her. She then proceeded to to share her faith with him. He broke down, overwhelmed that she not only forgave him but actually cared about his spiritual well-being. He became a completely different man. But you know what? He served his sentence. My aunt wasn't about to try to get him out of jail; his change of heart did not change the fact of what he did. But what did change was his soul, so that whether he was free or in prison, dead or alive, he had nothing to fear because the fate of his soul had been sealed forever.
