I personally like cooking, though I do not like the fact it takes forever to cook some dishes that do not really take that long to eat, heh.
This is something I just thought of (I do not know how Chile is, so this may be of no use), if you know the girls ethnic background.
Do not cook a specialty dish.
It will probably never be as good as what she is used to, and that is all she will be thinking about.
* Leans back in chair.
* Crosses legs.
* Strokes hairless chin.
* Puffs on pipe.
