Perhaps you should consider that nothing in life is certain. You might turn down the 3 month contract, then suddenly get laid off from your full time job. You would have wished you had taken the contract then.
of course there are many what if's, and the biggest one is:
What if you don't live the life you want to? How will you feel when your old and grey?
I believe, and not because of religion, that if you go for the life you want, work your hardest at it and be the best you can be, things will work out.
Be the child you once were, reach out and grab hold of what you want. :)
