    If I had to equate Djing equipment to Design apps...

    Technics = Photoshop
    Serato = Indesign
    Final Scratch = Quark Xpress

    I too had Final Scratch when it first came out and loved it. I've been out of the loop for a while but you can't go wrong with either Serato or Final Scratch. But definitely save up for Technics. Their the standard. As someone suggested eBay is good for used Technics.

    Stop by your local DJ store they will either have either or on display for customers to test out.
