They're not *actually* mailing from your addy. The concept of e-mail has been shit from the start, making all of this easy as pie.
You don't have to be a tech weasel to make it look like an email is coming from somewhere it's not. Just go into your profile and edit the addy. As long as your SMTP is legit, it can be fuck all in the profile settings.
My addy was stolen a few years back to send out viruses to hundreds of thousands of people. You would think I got a bunch of threats in return...
