    and another thing, Ctrl + L pulls up the Levels pallet.

    the first things i do once i scan a photo are:
    Ctrl + J to duplicate the original layer (so i can see my progress)
    Alt + T then Unsharp Mask (decent controls as opposed to just sharoening blindly)
    then Ctrl + L to adjust levels a bit, then Ctrl + U to adjust saturation or Ctrl + B if it needs more in-depth color correction.

    though it depends on the photo, this is usually this is just the way i start, then comes the tweeking.

    and NOW you have "Bio's Basic Beginning Tutorial on Fucking with Photos."
