    Don't get me wrong - I don't believe in not-tipping, I just think it's wrong for a system to be predelicted against hard working staff - to underpay then rely on a social pressure to ensure people are paid fairly.

    Almost seems counter to the very basis of the capitalist American society, in fact.

    True, I see your point. However there would have to be a changing of the status quo in order for tipped staff to get across the board increases in hourly wage as well as keeping the expectation of tipping...

    Not saying I agree w/ the current system, especially since I've personally been screwed by it in the past...it is what it is for the moment.
