honda, you're full of it.
If macs were on par with PCs pricewise, nothing would change. It's called inertia. It's the reason why people stick with inferior products and why better products fail in the marketplace. Change happens slowly in the marketplace, that marketing 101.
There is a good reason why macs are more expensive than PC. it's called usability. I know that the numerous interface differences in Mac make me a happier and more productive worker. Perhaps I know because I work for a living, and I have access to both platforms. Apple has complete control over the system, and thus they have more control over the user experience -- on hardware and on software. Yet this control results in higher prices from higher R&D and from smaller scales of economy. It's called a premium. It's not a performance premium, it's a usability premium. You obviously never used a Mac for actual work, so you don't know what it's about.
It's a strange kind of snobbery exibited from people who think they're anti-snobs. it's still personal, however, and it's still elitist and naive. The irony is that folks like you accuse others of not looking past eye candy, when you seem to not be able to look past it yourself. get over yourself you hater, and stop pretending to know it all.
