In conversation, always look about 6 inches to the left or right of someone’s eyes.
Just keep that up and see if people move their head to kind of like get in your field of vision, and if so, move yours accordingly (bonus points if you were six inches to the right, and then move six inches to the left afterwards).
Say nothing and act as if this is perfectly normal behaviour.
