crouwel, a concealed weapon is one that you have a permit to carry but you aren't flashing clint eastwood style. if you get patted down by a cop and they find a weapon on you without a permit, it means big trouble. if you have a permit, they let you go no harm done. point being, a permit is relatively hard to get (waiting periods for background checks, etc). and, if your gun was used, they can track it pretty easily. though, if you don't have a permit, which most people in gangs dont, it means that the gun was purchased illegally and that there's big trouble for them ahead in terms of the judicial system.
