Presumptious? Yes.
Borderline slanderous? No. Stuff is either slander or it's not. And this wasn't.
Personally Baskerville you should go to the interview. I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of. I think your questions are relevant but just symptomatic of designers sometimes not seeing the wood for the trees. Yup, it looks similar. But, given the name I could easily see myself ending up with a similar variant of that logo.
And I more than happy to confess, I've not seen either logo before. Do I have poor design awareness? I try to remain aware, subscribe to lots of magazines, read lots of books, trawl the web looking at other designers sites and even lurk around here a lot.
And whoever posted from Ico is still happy to meet with you aren't they? I think they have an evil sense of humour that's all. Hell if I was in there position I would want to meet with you. Your site is quirky with some good work and you are obviously passionate about design. They might just want to discuss nda's in contracts that's all.
