Despite all the frothy crap and talking points you hear in the media Sharpton DID and HAS gone after the rappers with the same tactics - picketing record companies, etc. But guess what, those record companies know where their money comes from and could give three shits about Sharpton and didn't fold.
Staples, Pepsi, and all the other of Imus' financial supporters pulled out.
It's about the money brother.
And again, there was no limiting of free speech..this is all about commercial speech and what sells toilet paper and dishwasher detergent and soda pop.
Sadly "gangsta rap" sells and old white guys saying 'nappy headed ho' doesn't.
