you know what you should do, tape of the edges of the area you want to use the mouse. grab some sandpaper and scrape the shit out of that glass.
or better yet, sandblast it. get a nice frosted look going. if i had my compressor, i'd do it for you. but it's being borrowed about 3500 miles from where i live.
