    Blues and jazz are a wholly unique amalgam of African rhythms and "field songs" from slave-era US. While the influence of Western song forms are undeniable, there is absolutely nothing comparable to have been developed outside of the United States.

    if jazz and blues are based off of rythyms which were bred in Africa than that means it's roots lay in africa not in America...and therefor are not purely american

    additonally the field hollar was also partially derrived from african story telling
