I have the same problem with my magazines here. My Macworld's normally last about 3 days before they disappear for a few weeks.
Then a ruler went missing from my desk this morning.
I had my boss hook me up with another filing cabinet that I put in the aisle and is lockable. I put my magazines in there for now, lock it when I leave.
This place rocks but at the moment the User Experience team I'm a part of and the Marketing shit-bags are butting heads. The CEO pretty much told Marketing their shit sucks and they should ask us for help. Since then shit has gone missing and 2 or so times a week my magnetic word sayings I have above my desk will have something like "lick raw man sausages"... which I removed yesterday. haha.
Good times.
So to answer your questin, maybe a lockable filing cabinet?
