Everyone who doesn't have an invite hates invite-based systems.
I hate it too sometimes, but once in a while there's a good reason for it. Like not going over a certain amount of users, or drawing in a certain amount of users first to see if the site can support it, or to get a slower flow in, etc, etc.
I just know these types of sites always ask for donations, so keeping the users at a lower number when they first come out makes sense sometimes.
