Well, yeah, but the same is true in America and just because a leader is not popular doesn't mean they can't do stupid crazy shit... on a daily basis in George W's case.
I give props to Ahmadinejhad to giving a big fuck you to the west on a regular basis. He knows they are mired in unwinable situations in Afghanistan and Iraq and simply don;t have the resources to do anything to him.
