My grandpa is 85 and doing exactly the same as yours did. Enjoying the last years.
I gave him a Johnny Walker - Blue Label last summer (cost me over 200 bucks), and he drank it all in in a couple of days. I asked why he didn't save some of it for later, and he just told me he might not see tomorrow and it would be a shame to leave such a good whiskey for his kids and grandkids... what a prick hehe, but we all laughed about it, and I understand him completely. He have been smoking for 78 years btw. Thats right, started when he was 7 while plowing fields with horses.
