I'm not a fan of White wine generally, with the exception of desert wines like Monbazillac and Muscat.
Rioja, is a good starting point.
I have always liked it and it made me want to know more about other red wines that weren't too dry. I now drink Merlot and Bordeaux quite often but a curent favorite is Perchament.
