Who's actually paying you? the company in Europe? Def work out currency issues up front, and just ask them what their expectations are for taxes etc. Will you get a 1099 sort of equivalent from them at the end of their fiscal year?
I've just had once experience like this, but my client in the UK just transferred funds in USD, and I didn't worry about any international issues. Maybe I should have, but it seemed simple enough at the time – just another payment from another client.
