  The resolutions supported are defined in the driver. If all else fails, you can edit it manually. It is a text file (.ini afair), you just need to add your resolution to the list.
  I added the very same monitor model to my old laptop this way, not knowing anything about video drivers prior to that.

  You might be able to find a modified driver for your card too, there are forums for this kind of stuff..
