I stayed at the PencilDick Inn (Candlewick Inn) last time there. It's over by the Hard Rock Casino. It was a free stay so I didn't mind too much but it was said by ninja, it was a $12 cab ride back to the strip and getting a cab at any casino off the strip sucks fucking balls. 99% of the cabs stay on the strip because that's where they'll get the most business. Every time I needed to get a cab there were at least 2 people waiting ahead of me and the hotel had to keep calling out for a cab. Took 20 minutes every time. Sucks.
I've stayed at the NY NY, MGM, Luxor, Bellagion, Wynn, Flamingo, Bally's and Caesars Palace.
Really, I never carer where I stayed on the strip as long as it was on the strip. Back in the day I'd only use the room to keep my clothes in, shower and sleep. I was maybe in the room an hour a day 4-5 hours a night. Maybe.
Now that I'm older though and settled down I'm into the perks offered by the hotel. It's pool, spa, healthclub, where it is on the strip. That sorta thing.
For your money NY NY is good, and the Flamingo and Bally's are usually the cheaper of the bunch and right in the middle of the strip. WHich is good if you plan on walking the strip.
And def. hit up Point5. He's the life of the party.
