THis is all well and true Kon but I felt that they (design companies) didn't care much for flyer design and posters. They wanted hours in the studio learning from CD's and also to know why I had no/very few work placements.
I got a response once from Dominic Lippa (now at Pentagram) when I asked for advice on my book/a placement. He said "bad/wrong companies should come with a health warning & they do no good for your career"
Trust me I was passionate but this alone doesn't get you the job...
...that or I was shite
