I did this,
I was offered a job before I Left uni as a graphic designer at a digital imaging company (I was basically designing mobile phone covers). The money was good and I got to stay in Newcastle (UK). I stayed for a year and it was the biggest mistake I ever made.
When I realised that this was going nowhere I quit but with a portfolio still full of Student work I didn't have much to go on.
I went on the hunt for a placement (i.e essential experience) it took me a further year to find a job (the market was crap then/I was ;) therefore I was 2 years behind all my college mates.
So I would say quit NOW and stomach not earning any ££ for a few months whilst you gain valuable experience.
