So I need to be looking for one with a good wide angle of view then?

(Mar 14 07, 15:25)Wide angle is architecture's best friend, but remember to read opinions and watch lots of samples before you buy. Some lenses have stronger barrel distortion at wide angle, that's bad for this type of shooting. You want nice vertical corners in your interiors, not fisheye-like effects.
I guess a decent tripod would be useful too.
