half of the work I've ever done.
It's all in how you use it. Trying too hard to be original tends to backfire. I believe if we all think for ourselves and simply let concept drive everything from color to illustration content & style, then the originality will shine through and the work will stand on its own without the assistance of stylistic props.
That's what I'm striving for, at least...

But give Joe Shmo in the street the same parameters and what will he come up with? It's what we do everyone. Some of us are good at it, some of us are average, some of us come up with unique ideas. I'm sure we're guilty of all 3 of those things at some stage of our careers.
Anyway context, context, context. Wearing clothes is a cliche. Eating is a cliche. Being a designer is a cliche on Newstoday.
