i think kona has the best advice so far..
    couldn't agree more.

the first year or so is tough and interesting, if you aren't living together now that is...
learning each others idiosyncracies (funny little ways) can be fun but also a headache...

after the first year, things get much better, you develop a groove, you know each other really truly well...

i married an east indian girl, so there was no choice for me but to have a big wedding..fortunately, her parents helped out...so we didn't go totally broke..
and we made about 10 grand in wedding presents (cash) plus a lot of just regular presents from the registry...kitchen stuff, etc...

kona's right tho...only do it if this THE one...like, you go to bed thinking about her, wake up doing the same...he couldn't have been more right about that..

and also he's dead on about the inlaws...'specially the mother in law....
best hope you love em dearly, cuz you TRULY marry the family...and during the wedding planning, her mom is gonna be very VERY involved..

's a good thing i totally love my inlaws, like, as much as my own folks....
i've known some guys that can't stand theirs, and i can't imagine how ackward and rought that must get...

if you love her, marry her dude
    :)
