Have had experience with the AppleCare engine...
They may repair it, most likely they will replace it.
BE SURE to archive the entire drive before sending it to them. Even if you instruct them NOT to wipe your drive and replace, they will most likely do it anyway.
Have had multiple Macs sent for repair, and regardless of what instructions you send or tell someone over the phone – they still clean the fucker out and give you a new, empty drive.
